Frances Goldman was named as the 2009 YWCA Outstanding Women Award
recipient for law.
December, 2008
- Governor Tim Kaine has appointed MRWBA
member Gail Jaspen to serve as Chief Deputy Director of the Virginia
Department of Forensic Science. Gail has held several senior posts in
state government, including service with the Office of the Secretary of
Health and Human Resources, Department of Health Professions, and Office
of the Attorney General. She also practiced law in the private sector
with Reed Smith.
October, 2008
- Former MRWBA President Stephanie Grana was selected by Style Weekly as
one of Richmond's "Top 40 Under 40" this year and her profile was
included in its October 7, 2008 issue.
January, 2007
- Congratulations to MRWBA Public Service
Committee Co-Chair, Margaret Hardy of Sands, Anderson, Marks, and
Miller. As of January 1, 2007 Margaret Hardy is a shareholder at the
firm.
- MRWBA past president Clair Harrington
was featured in the ABA Journal. If you have access to the ABA Journal

practice section. Ms Harrington is featured in the article by name and

- Congratulations to Virginia Hackney for being selected as one of the
recipients of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association’s Awards of
Distinction! Virginia is one of the founders of the MRWBA and served as
the first president of the association. As a pioneer for women attorneys
in Richmond and throughout the state, Virginia Hackney has opened many
doors and accomplished many “firsts” in her career, paving the way for
other women attorneys. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor,
Virginia!
