MRWBA Board Nominations Due Friday, April 2nd

MRWBA is currently seeking members to serve on the 2021-2022 Board of Directors. MRWBA is the premier organization for women attorneys in the Richmond area. With a mission of supporting and enhancing the professional development of women in the legal profession through education and networking opportunities, programs occur monthly September through May and at other times during the year with member socials, CLE opportunities and mentorship events.

Tina's Wish EmpowHER Series

MRWBA is pleased to collaborate with Tina's Wish as a Community Partner for their EmpowHER Series! The monthly webisode series educates and empowers women in relation to their gynecologic health. 

The next webisode will be The Role Genetics Plays in Gynecologic Cancers and it will air on Thursday, May 6th at 11:30am ET. To register, click here.

Central Virginia Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Training

Central Virginia Legal Aid Society is offering a training session for their Hotline Advice Line. Following this virtual training on March 31 from 12 - 2 p.m., pro bono attorneys will sign up for one or more 2-hour VIRTUAL shifts in JusticeServer to provide Advice & Counsel to clients with family, consumer and employment law issues. Register for the MRWBA Annual Legislative Update Webinar

Join MRWBA  for our Annual Legislative Update Webinar on Wednesday, April 28th. The program will feature a panel of state legislators who will discuss bills from this year's General Assembly session and the legislative process. This annual program provides a great opportunity to hear the inside story from local legislators and to participate in a Q&A with them on the burning issues of the 2021 General Assembly session.

Mentorship Award Honorees

Mentorship Event Wraps-up Year

Thanks to everyone who participated in the March 23rd (virtual) Mentorship event. Judge Elizabeth Hanes shared some words of advice for our participants and we were able to recognize two great mentors with the presentation of the Phoebe P. Hall Mentorship Award

  • Current MRWBA Member and one of our past presidents, Leslie Haley (pictured at left), is currently seeking the Republican nomination for Attorney General. Leslie is currently an owner in the law firm of Park Haley, LLP where her practice is focused on providing ethics and law office management advice to lawyers and law firms in a wide array of practice areas and courts, both state and federal.  She also routinely serves as a GAL for children and serves on the Court Improvement Program Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Virginia.  She is a past President of the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation, a member of the Lewis M. Powell, Jr. American Inns of Court, and a 2010 recipient of the Influential Women of Virginia award. Leslie is currently in her second term on the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors.
