        President's Message

I find that fall is always an exhilarating season with many new beginnings—the start of the school year, sporting events, apple picking, pumpkin patches, family holidays, turning leaves, and (eventually) cooler weather.

September seems to be slipping away as we settle into our new routines and adjust to the reality of another year altered by the COVID pandemic.  Amidst the hustle of work and personal obligations, I try to remember to take a few minutes each day to appreciate the positive energy and bounty of this season.

We anticipate that October and November will be bustling with the upcoming election and several events designed for MRWBA members with varying interests and availability:  a “kick-off” Membership event will be in early October (details TBD,) followed by the Pro Bono Month luncheon (October 20 at Willow Oaks Country Club,) and a Mentorship event (tentatively scheduled for November 4.)

More details about the fall schedule will be announced soon.  I hope that you can join us for one or all of these experiences.

        2021-2022 MRWBA President

        Congratulations to Judge Pemberton

During the General Assembly’s special session last month, the Senate and House voted to elevate Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court Judge Jayne Pemberton (pictured at left to Chesterfield Circuit Court. She will replace Circuit Judge T.J. Hauler, who retired in December 2019. Judge Pemberton served as MRWBA's 2010 - 2011 President.
